Bernie Sanders Takes on Baltimore: PHOTOS

Bernie Sanders was in Baltimore on Saturday, April 23, to address the masses. He touched on subjects such as the Black Lives Matter movement, wealth inequality, women in the workplace and a multitude of other things. Among his litany of supporters was Danny Glover, a star in The Color Purple and the Lethal Weapon series: Sanders also energized the crowd with a speech touching on … Continue reading Bernie Sanders Takes on Baltimore: PHOTOS

The Week In Review

A lot can go down in a week. Good thing I’m here to run through it with you.

B.o.B. doesn’t celebrate Columbus Day

b.o.b.

Noted philosopher B.o.B. was a trending topic for the first time in years, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your opinion of B.o.B) it wasn’t for music. B.o.B. was trending because he was seeking to prove that the world is flat… B.o.B. made claims such as “if the world is round why doesn’t the skyline curve?” and “Have you seen any pictures of Earth that weren’t taken by NASA?” Listen, this shit is idiotic but commendable. You’re supposed to question everything but B.o.B., Bob, Bobby Ray, this isn’t the sword to die on my guy. Whether the world is round or flat doesn’t even effect us on a day to day basis. Use your platform to talk about some real socially conscious life changing shit. People in Flint have poisoned water, we have a presidential election this year, we have cops killing people, we have processed food that’s killing us; but you chose to use your platform to argue about the Earth being flat. Then diss an astrophysicist…C’mon B.

Sidebar: Neil deGrasse Tyson Twitter beefing is everything that’s right and wrong about the time we live in. It’s cool to see people from completely different avenues of life interacting but y’all can keep the trash music locked up forever. Continue reading “The Week In Review”

Navy Outlasts Army, 21-17

Entering into today’s game, Navy had won 13 straight football games against Army. Today, Navy looked to increase their streak to 14 straight games. That they did. This set the new Division 1 all-time … Continue reading Navy Outlasts Army, 21-17

Tales and Takes: Darren O’Day

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a 4-year, $31 million deal with reliever Darren O’Day. ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick broke the report. The deal was thought to have been completed on Sunday. However, O’Day took to Twitter to deny that any deal had been completed with the Orioles: Contrary to the news, I have not reached an agreement with the O's yet. I am flattered by … Continue reading Tales and Takes: Darren O’Day

Classic Teams I’d Love To See In A Future Madden Game (part 1)

With the new Madden 16 hitting shelves a couple weeks ago, I found myself in a jealous fit. NBA2K16 developers were announcing new classic teams, graphics, and other new features and I felt a little bit of jealousy. I love the 2K games, but I only played basketball in middle school – the rougher years of my young life. Football was my true love. It consumed 3 years of my high school life and, in turn, I engrossed myself in the culture. College, NFL, and even High school level football is cool as hell to me. The 3rd way I showed my love for football (besides playing it and watching it) was through games. I have all the Maddens from ’08-’15 and sadly… all of them are kinda the same. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There’s cool features added like Ultimate Team and other Franchise modes, but it doesn’t have that emotional kick that 2K gives the user. Plus these games are constantly mocked for their blandness and glitches, so it’s hard to rep the Madden team. One (of many) features I’ve always wanted was classic teams.Teams like the ’07-’08 Boston Celtics, the ’99-’00 Toronto Raptors, and the great ’00-’01 L.A will appear in NBA 2K16, yet Madden still has it’s same modern teams with some “All-Pro” filled classic teams. Those teams are cool but playing with Mike Vick isn’t as fun if you don’t have Warrick Dunn to pick up the pieces. So here is my top 12 (equivalent to all the classic teams 2K16 has) classic teams I’d like to see in Madden 17 or whenever EA gets it together.
